Turpen Family Farm
MEET THE OWNERS
Family run and operated, Turpen Family Farm is managed by Robert and Pamela Turpen. They have three children, two sons and a daughter. They also have two grandson's whom they love to spend time with.
ABOUT THE FARM
Turpen Family Farm has a long history of farming and family values. Started in 1949 as Anderson Dairy by Harvey and Lola Anderson, with their four daughters they had a thriving small business in the Heart of the Alsea Valley. In 1978 their grandson, current owner Robert Turpen, came to help run the business.
Presently, Robert and his wife Pamela, along with their children, operate a multi-purpose small farm growing a variety of vegetables and raising chickens. If you were to take a visit to the farm you could probably see Robert out harvesting vegetables for Farmers Markets, or the whole family out pulling weeds, fixing fence or spending time together.
The farm currently participates in Farmers Markets in the Corvallis area as well as supplying eggs to several natural foods stores in the Eugene as well as Newport. Customers can call anytime to find out more information, ask questions, or request a bulk order.

Robert Turpen
Born in Alsea, Robert grew up on Anderson Dairy helping his grandparents. His parents moved to Newberg when he was young but he spent every summer milking cows and hauling hay.
Now he wakes up before the sun rises and prepares to do chores. First he feeds the chickens, and takes care of the chicks. Then he feeds his cows, which are more like his pets than anything.
Spending much of the rest of the day maintaining fences, and weeding the garden. You will also see his smiling face at our Saturday Market booth.

Pamela Turpen
Pamela also grew up on a dairy farm, in Indiana. She moved to Oregon when she was 24. Growing up she would help her dad milk cows in the morning and evening. Her mother taught her how to garden, growing large quantities of vegetables which they canned.
She grows all of our plants from seeds, and manages the care for planting and transplanting every plant. Ensuring all of our vegetables are well-cared-for. Most afternoons, you can find her and Robert in the garden weeding.
She also handwashes all of our eggs and prepares them for delivery.
